It is understood that the complainant had sought help from the prophet after a series of events which he viewed as bad luck.
The prophet is alleged to have claimed he had found a python which he said was responsible for the ill-fortune before claiming to be paid two cattle.
After the complainant indicated that he could not afford the payment, the prophet then took the python and dumped it at the complainant's house in Ruwa.
The complainant then fled his home and reported the matter to the police.
Police spokesperson, Inspector James Sabau confirmed the incident and said the python has since been taken by the Parks and Wildlife Authorities.
