Zanu-PF Politburo member, Professor Jonathan Moyo, who is in South Africa attending the ANC National Conference on Policy Formulation, says liberation movements in the region still have unfinished business as the agenda of the revolution is still alive.
In a telephone interview from Gallagher Estates in South Africa, Professor Moyo, who is leading a Zanu-PF delegation, said ruling parties which fought for the attainment of independence in their countries are now moving ahead with the various phases of their revolutions.
He said the phases are attainment of social justice through economic empowerment programmes as well as ensuring that the laws and constitutions of the day are in conformity with people's needs.
He said the debate taking place at the ANC conference is centred on the task the liberation movement is facing in social transformation, organisational renewal and national economic transformation through the mining sector, agriculture and rural development.
"The ANC, just like Zanu-PF, MPLA, Frelimo and all other revolutionary parties, says it is also a revolutionary party, a current revolutionary party and not a former. As a result, the agenda of the revolution is still with the ANC just as it is with Zanu-PF," said Professor Moyo.
Professor Moyo said the ANC's thrust is similar to the way Zanu-PF is involved in economic empowerment for the black majority through the 3rd Chimurenga.
Some 2000 delegates from South Africa's provinces are attending the conference.
Representatives from sister parties in Southern Africa such as MPLA of Angola, Chama cha Mapinduzi of Tanzania, Mozambique's Frelimo and Zanu-PF as well as SPLA of Sudan, Ethiopia and Nigeria's ruling parties are also attending.
Zanu-PF Women's League National Secretary for Information and Publicity, Mrs Monica Mutsvangwa is accompanying Professor Moyo to the conference which was opened on Tuesday by South African President Jacob Zuma.
