Lawyers representing the 29 MDC-T members who are being accused of murdering a police officer in Glen View last year, today filed a fresh bail application at the Supreme Court seeking their release from remand prison.
The bail application comes after the 29 members were granted leave to appeal for bail at the Supreme Court by Justice Chinembiri Bhunu.
Justice Bhunu had, in an earlier appeal at the High Court, denied the accused bail claiming there were no special circumstances to grant them bail.
The papers filed today at the Supreme Court are challenging the refusal by Justice Bhunu to grant the accused bail. The accused have been in remand prison since their indictment for trial in March.
