Zimbabwe meteorological department unreliable

The Meteorological Services Department has come under fire for giving erroneous weather forecasts with members of the public saying it has become unreliable.
People say the department earlier warned them to brace up for a severely cold winter during one of their weather outlooks, but surprisingly winter is proving to have warm temperatures.
However, Met Services Department Acting Deputy Director of Operations in the Weather Department, Mr Terence Mushore said they only indicated that due to climate change, temperatures are showing a rise in both the maximum and minimum categories which is typical of global warming.
He defended the readings which he said are fairly accurate given that they use the international standards of weather forecasts thereby negating the assertion that their weather reading equipment is outdated and obsolete.
This winter season has witnessed mostly cold mornings and evenings whilst warm temperatures persist during the day.
These signs are far from showing a severe winter but rather the opposite.
