Abandoned wizard caught stark naked

A self confessed wizard on Thursday caused a stir at Murape Secondary School in Dema communal lands when he was caught stark naked early in the morning.
The man, who appeared to be in a trance, revealed that he was abandoned by one of his 'partners' when he lost his power.
"I travelled from Mutoko and I was accompanied by Brighton when we came here to bewitched people. I failed to get back into the weaving basked (rusero) that Brighton and I were travelling in. I did not fulfil my mission as I had planned because my powers varnished and that is the reason why I am here," claimed the man.
A group of teachers at the school said the man was abandoned because they had been conducting prayers the previous night.
"What has happened here is a spiritual war. Only last night, we had a very powerful prayer meeting and it's quite evident that is the reason why this witch was caught. This man had come to bewitch us but because of the prayers we conducted last night, he did not fulfil his mission because God protected us from evil," said one teacher.
Occupants of the house where the man was caught said they came across the naked man in their toilet.
"We use the outside toilet for bathing so at around 5am, we were arguing on who was to bath first. When we got into the toilet, we were shocked to see a man stark naked inside the toilet. We then rushed and told others about it and people came to see him. He remained holed up in the toilet for almost three hours before the police came and took him to Dema Police Station," narrated a member of the family.
Meanwhile, there were some people who were part of the crowd who wanted to mete instant justice on the man after a school of that he could be a thief arose.
"This man needs to be beaten up. I suspect that he had come here to steal and he is fabricating that he came here to bewitch people," said one man among the angry mob.
The man was then offered clothes and was escorted to Dema Police Station. This comes barely a month after two elderly self-confessed witches were caught naked and screaming in Chinhoyi. The two alleged witches, Rosemary Kamanga, aged 48, and Esnath Maodza, 56, were arrested in Chinhoyi, Mashonaland West, last month after they were found stark naked in a neighbourhood in the morning. The two suspects claimed they had been dropped off a winnowing basket by a colleague, named as Shylet Muzeza while returning from a nocturnal witching assignment at a nearby compound.
