The Minister of Youth Development, Indigenisation and Empowerment, Saviour Kasukuwere says the Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment Act will not be amended.
He was responding to statements made by the Finance Minister, Tendai Biti at a breakfast meeting this Thursday morning.
Addressing the breakfast meeting in the capital, Minister Biti said government will amend sections of the Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment Act to ensure that new foreign direct investment will be exempted from ceding 51% shareholding.
However, in an interview, Kasukuwere said he is not aware of where Biti's statement is coming from.
Biti's statements are not anything new to go by as his party, the MDC-T, has been constantly found on the opposite side of empowering previously marginalised indigenous Zimbabweans.
