A 58-year-old Guruve man on Tuesday appeared in court facing two counts of rape and another one of attempting to rape his 24-year-old daughter.
He pleaded not guilty when he appeared before Mashonaland Central Regional Magistrate Ms Mavis Kudumba.
Prosecutor Mr Munyaradzi Mataranyika alleged that on December 16 last year, the man entered his daughter's bedroom and threatened to stop looking after her and her baby if she did not comply with his orders.
The State said he tied her hands with a rope and pushed her to the floor before raping her.
It is alleged he again threatened to make her homeless if she revealed the rape to anyone.
Mr Mataranyika alleged that sometime in January this year, the man again went to his daughter's room at night and began calling her a prostitute.
Allegations are that he wrestled her to the floor, tied her hands and raped her. Mr Mataranyika said the third charge stemmed from an attempted rape on February 14 when his daughter successfully fought him off in her bedroom.
Lawyer Mr Noah Maringe of RJ Gumbo and Associates, representing the accused, said the complainant had fabricated the allegations to get back at her father for punishing her after she had disobeyed him when told not to travel to Harare.
The accused is out on US$200 bail and will return to court on March 9.
