LAWYERS representing former Dynamos Football Club secretary and businessman Mr Brian Kashangura are seeking the arrest of a senior police officer on allegations of conniving with the man's wife to fraudulently take over his security firm.
Assistant Commissioner Erasmus Makodza, who is now based in Bulawayo, allegedly teamed up with Mr Kashangura's wife, Gilliet Motsi and was appointed a director in Brendon Security together with Zvichapera Nyamadzawo.
The woman and Nyamadzawo have since appeared in court facing fraud charges but Asst Comm Makodza was not arrested.
Advocate Isiah Mureriwa of Scanlen and Holderness â€" on behalf of Mr Kashangura â€" has written to Harare area public prosecutor Mr Jonathan Murombedzi seeking the arrest of Asst Comm Makodza before the trial on September 3.
Mr Kashangura's wife Gilliet (42), a former compliance manager with a local bank has since appeared in court together with her former workmate Nyamadzawo (40).
On Monday magistrate, Ms Anita Tshuma, deferred the matter to September 3 this year. The complainant, Mr Kashangura, is also the managing director of Forest Security (Pvt) Ltd. The State says sometime in March last year, the complainant came up with the idea of forming a company meant to provide security services to private schools and registered Brendon Security on April 7 last year.
Sometime in June last year the State says Mr Kashangura fell sick and could not attend to his office and the wife took over and acted in his capacity, attending to all issues, which required his attention hence she was in charge of the safe. In June, Mr Kashangura received a tip-off from an anonymous caller to the effect that he had been eliminated from Brendon Security
