A Waterfalls man reportedly set dogs on his girlfriend who had run away from home in a bid to bar her from coming to his house. He then left her outside for two days.

The drama unfolded at No. 367 Hawkstery Close, Waterfalls where Lenman Pisa (29) resides after his girlfriend Zivai Hamandishe (24) had eloped to his house.

Lenman was hauled before Mbare magistrate Mr Rueben Mukavhi charged with assault. He was remanded out of custody to 21 August on US$50 Bail.

State counsel Michael Chakandida alleges that on 30 July at around 7pm, Zivai was at Lenman's place of residence seated outside. It is reported that she had been barred from entering the house by Lenman since he was not ready to take her as his wife.

Lenman got back home at around 10pm coming from work and his 'wife to be' was still stranded outside. She apparently confronted him for leaving her outside the house and without food.

Further allegations are that the confrontation angered him before he became violent and beat her. Zivai had reportedly had slept outside for two consecutive days since the day her aunty left her at the house.

Lenman went on to set dogs on her in a bid to chase her away. In ire, she reported the matter to police leading to Lenman's arrest.

Michael Chakandida appeared for the State.
