The Chairman of the Harare South Crime Consultative Committee, Mr Genius Mazhindu says there is need for crime awareness campaigns as a lasting solution to curb crime.
Mr Mazhindu said it is disturbing to note that some residents commit various crimes out of ignorance.

A number of people especially from Epworth, Chinamhora and squatter camps around Harare have appeared before Harare Magistrate Courts facing charges of rape, incest and other crimes which some people believe are as a result of lack of information.
