Abisha Nyanguwo, the MDC-T Chief of Staff has been removed from remand at the Gweru Magistrates' Courts after State witnesses failed to turn up on three occasions.

Nyanguwo was facing accusations of bombing the Zanu-PF offices in the Midlands capital, Gweru last year. He was arrested in April and had to spend days in police custody as the police officers failed to find witnesses to nail him down on their doomed charges.

He was later granted a US$500 bail.

However, when the trial resumed in June, the State failed to bring in its three named witnesses on three occasions prompting the trial magistrate to remove Nyanguwo from remand.

It was the State's case led by prosecutor Michael Mhene that on December 27 last year at around 2300hrs, Nyanguwo planted explosives at the Zanu-PF offices before igniting them and speeding away.

A State witness - Archfold Tumbare whose testimony was only in an affidavit allegedly identified the accused vehicle's registration number and kept the information to himself. He then informed police on March 19 leading to the arrest of Nyanguwo.

However, Tumbare and the other two witnesses failed to appear in court on three occasions.
