Lesotho Prime Minister, Thabane officially opens Harare Agric Show

Lesotho Prime Minister, Thomas Thabane has called for the unconditional lifting of the illegal economic sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe by the West.
Officially opening the 102nd edition of the Harare Agricultural Show, Mr Thabane said Zimbabweans are a resilient people who lost their resources to colonialism and suffered serious economic problems but still emerged stronger than before.
"The people of Lesotho pay tribute to the resilience of the people of Zimbabwe. You lost your land and with your strong will of determination you defeated colonialism," he said.
Mr Thabane said says no power can erase Zimbabwe's place as a portal of African civilisation.
He said the SADC region will continue to assist Zimbabwe in fighting all challenges.
Prime Minister Thabane said even though Zimbabwe has been subjected to political destabilisation and had its leadership vilified by its enemies, Lesotho wants to see Zimbabwe succeed and will reject any idea that seeks to undermine Zimbabwe's economic and political power.
Mr Thabane said Lesotho will always be grateful for Zimbabwe's positive intervention which resulted in a smooth transfer of power in his country.
He said: "The Global Political Agreement was unthinkable, but with political maturity Zimbabwe is to close another unpalatable chapter. The people of Lesotho wish you great success in the GPA."
The Prime Minister said exhibitions promote the development of self sustenance; the need to employ value addition to enable trade with other countries.
"The agricultural show is a good example which should be emulated by all the countries in the region. In next year's agricultural show, president of the show, Robbie Mupawose, allow us to bring Lesotho's farmers to come and learn from the exhibition," he said.
The official opening was attended by the Head of State and Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, President Robert Mugabe, the First Lady, Amai Grace Mugabe, Vice Presidents, Joice Mujuru, Landa John Nkomo, Zimbabwe Agricultural Society President, Robbie Mupawose, several ministers and government officials.
