Airlink reconnects Zimbabwe and South Africa
02 Oct 2020 at 09:56hrs | Views
Airlink, the privately-owned regional airline, will reconnect Zimbabwe and South Africa when it resumes scheduled passenger services from 05 October.
This follows the lifting of travel restrictions that curtailed travel between the neighbouring countries while they both worked to successfully contain the spread of the Coronavirus.
"Airlink is looking forward to re-establishing the vital connections that sustain the all-important trade, business, tourism and family ties across the Limpopo River," said Airlink CEO, Rodger Foster.
Our daily south-bound lunchtime departure from Harare and mid-morning departure returning from Johannesburg, provides travellers with seamless connectivity with Airlink's new direct flights linking Johannesburg with Cape Town and with Durban. Connections are also available to Airlink's other South African destinations, such as Port Elizabeth, East London, Bloemfontein and others. Over the coming few weeks, Airlink will rebuild its network with the resumption of services to additional destinations throughout the SADC region, all reachable with Airlink connections via its hub at Johannesburg's O.R. Tambo International Airport.
Airlink's great value for money Economy Class fares include a 20kg free economy class checked in luggage allowance plus a 15kg sporting equipment allowance. Onboard, our customers are treated to a complimentary light meal, refreshments, generous leg room and a choice of aisle or window seat (our flights do not have middle seats).
Airlink's intra-continental Business Class service is available on selected flights operated by our state-of-the-art Embraer E-jets, with wide seats arranged in a two plus one abreast configuration with plenty of legroom between each row. Our service on these flights includes complimentary meals and beverages, a 30kg check-in luggage allowance and priority boarding.
