Senior citizen 'steals' underwear takes it to court

THERE was drama at Guruve court on Friday when a senior citizen brought his alleged girlfriend's pant and beads as exhibit of their love affair before Guruve resident Rumbidzai Mugwagwa yesterday.


Nixon Muzemi (60) of Holland farm who is facing theft charges of blankets and matress from the alleged girlfriend told the court that the complanaint was his girlfriend and is fixing him since she has new boyfriends.

"Your worship the state witness is my girlfriend and l have her white underwear with me to prove our affair," he said while showing the underwear to the magistrate.

"She left it under my pillow sometime ago after one of her visits, l also had a wand of her waist beads and if the court is to examine her, it will find that she has two wands of waist beads.

The witness Portia Chinhengo said her underwear was stollen from her the same way he did to the blankets.

The state led by Carson Kundiona alleged on September 5 around 12 am the accused unlawfully entered into Poshia Chinhengo's (28) room and stole two blankets.

After 4 minutes he came back to steal a matress and the complanaint saw him through the window she shouted for help and the senior citizen picked a bucket of manure on the complanaint who was in company of her friend.

He tried to run away but villagers chased after him and meted instant justice on him.before surrendering to Mvurwi police.

The trial continues on October 21.
