Married woman snatches neighbour's husband

A married Harare woman "jumped over the fence" to snatch her neighbour's husband leaving her own man. Sijile Mukumule was taken to Harare Civil Court by her neighbour Miriam Sikochi who was seeking a protection order. Sikochi told the court that she was evicted from her house while Mukumule had moved in.
"Your Worship, this woman was my neighbour for many years. She had her own husband who is our next-door neighbour whom she left and took my own.
"Everything started a few years ago when their affair started and I did not know she will move in with him at the end after I went to the rural areas."
She said Makumule had removed her kitchen unit out of the house.
"She uses my kitchen utensils and the rest of my property. She even sleeps in my matrimonial bed."
Sikochi told the court that the house belongs to her mother-in-law who is aware of the incident.
"She is an obstacle and I want to come home and take care of my children."
Sikochi also alleged that Mukumule assaults her when she tries to return home saying they exchanged husbands.
"On March 13, she assaulted me when I tried to come back and I want her to be barred from such a conduct," Sikochi said.
Presiding magistrate Ms Rekinah Dzikiti asked Mukumule whether she moved out of her house to live with her neighbour's.
"Yes your Worship, that happened and the man she is saying is her husband is now mine. I divorced the man she was talking about in 2005. My husband now tells me they divorced and is prepared to stay with me. That is why my mother-in-law does not have a problem with it."
She however denied assaulting Sikochi saying she was out of Zimbabwe on the day.
"She divorced my husband after trying to strangle my mother-in-law. Right now she stays in Epworth from where she is getting maintenance," Mukumule said.
Magistrate Dzikiti issued a reciprocal peace order saying she will not choose a wife for the man.
