South African President Jacob Zuma's facilitation team involved in the mediation talks with Zimbabwe are expected here on Tuesday to break an impasse over the constitution making process.
The process has stalled following the re-writing of the draft constitution by President Robert Mugabe's Zanu-PF, giving massive powers to the President.
The Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) formations in the inclusive government last week rejected Zanu-PF's version of the draft constitution produced by the Constitution Select Committee (COPAC).
Other amendments by Zanu-PF include the scrapping of provisions on devolution of power and dual citizenship.
Qhubani Moyo, the MDC policy and research director, confirmed that Zuma's facilitation team made up of the South African leader's international relations advisor, Lindiwe Zulu, and Presidential spokesperson, Marc Maharaj, will arrive on Tuesday.
The MDC formations have described proposed amendments by Zanu-PF as unreasonable.
Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai insisted that the draft constitution must be taken to the Second All Stakeholders Constitution in its original form.
