Woman collapses and dies on busy Bulawayo street

A woman collapsed and died suddenly on a busy Bulawayo street on Monday.
The unidentified woman had just walked out of a shop close to the Tredgold Magistrates Court at about 2PM when she slumped to the ground, never to get up.
Two police officer who were shortly at the scene attempted to resuscitate her, but she was already dead, according to witnesses.
A large crowd watched as health officials from City of Bulawayo's health services department followed Covid-19 protocols in recovering the body which had been covered under a red blanket.
The body and its surroundings were disinfected with a hand-held spray before it was recovered to Mpilo Central Hospital where tests were to be conducted.
The ministry of health announced on Monday evening that Zimbabwe had recorded 12 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, 10 of which were in Bulawayo including one death. It was not immediately clear if the dead woman was the reported death.
As of Monday night, Zimbabwe had reported 8,159 coronavirus cases, of which 232 resulted in death. Some 7,683 people made recoveries.
