Bindura Mayor bashed over stolen stands

BINDURA mayor Carlos Tokyo (40) (MDC A) was allegedly bashed by his deputy Norbert Dhokotera who accused him of leaking information on stolen stands in Bindura.
The matter came to light at Bindura magistrates courts on Tuesday where Dokotera appeared before magistrate Samantha Dlamini.
He pleaded not guilty and was granted $800 bail.
The state led by Clement Kuwanda alleged on October 19 the mayor arrived at Chipadze subarb and disembarked from his vehicle to greet his fellow party members Jacob Gwature,Smile Matola and Jonnah Kapasi.
Dokotera who was in his car watched his mayor at a distance and disembarked while charging at him.
The charged Dokotera accused Toyko of leaking information to the effect that he stole residential stands.
He assaulted Tokyo with open hands and was refrained by his fellow party members from further assaulting Toyko.
Fearing for his life Toyko rushed to the police station where he filed a police report leading to the arrest of Dokotera.
The matter continues on October 27.
