Chinonge, Binga South - MDC Secretary General Priscilla Misihairabwi Mushonga said the Movement for Democratic Change led by Prof Welshman Ncube celebrates the diverse values and cultures of Zimbabwe.

Misihairabwi Mushonga also said MDC does not believe that there are cultures or tribes that are more superior that any other.

She said this while addressing party supporters in Chinonge Business Centre, Binga South, Matabeleland North on Sunday.

"When we are here in Binga we are happy to listen, learn and speak your language, we are happy to dance to the Tonga drum and songs. We believe your culture is equal to all other cultures. We respect the practice of it. We don't believe you are not equal to others, we know that you have been unfairly treated by both the colonial regime and the Zanu-PF government after independence. It is these injustices that inform our struggle for a just and a fair Zimbabwe" she said.

She went on to say that the struggles of the Tonga people for their resources which rightfully belongs to them is no different from the battle of Prof Ncube  against Mugabe who continues to deny him his rightful position as the Deputy Prime Minister of Zimbabwe.

The MDC Secretary General said, "your battle against these injustices proffered to you by Robert Mugabe and his Zanu-PF party is intertwined with our battle for the swearing-in of our President Ncube as the Deputy Prime Minister, the reason why he is not sworn-in is because he belongs to the "wrong" tribe as is the reason why your resources are being parceled out to those that belong to the assumed "right" tribe by Mugabe and his party. Thus, it is clear that no any other party in this country understands your grievances that this MDC. Now is the time for the unity of such forces."

The rally was attended by over 1800 MDC supporters.
