Cabinet Minister up for bribery

Minister of Energy Zhemu Soda has been accused of bribing Zanu PF Mashonaland Central provincial members to support him as Muzarabani district coordinating committee (DCC) chairperson.
Soda who is allegedly using president Emmerson Mnangagwa's appointment as a tool to be uncontested is reported to have bribed provincial youth members to threaten district members to vote him or risk being expelled on factional grounds.
Sources who spoke to Bulawayo24.com said the youth provincial members are working parallel to party orders of provincial members not to be involved in DCC elections.
"There has been an outcry on the instructions that provincial members should not take sides in these DCC elections. In Mzarabani cdes Lancelot Magede and Nhemachena are causing confusion They are the Provincial members for Youth wing but pipo have bn paid by Soda to threaten pipo not to go against Soda as he was appointed by HE," said the source.
"In Hoya last month they used Ward Assembly chair to threaten villagers who were going against Zhemu that they risk being chased away from Chief Kasekete's area.
"The other candidate Naison Mutahwa was chased away from the Hoya meeting after saying why are you contesting a presidential appointee," added the source.
Soda did not respond to questions sent to him by this publication.
