Bindura man nabbed for attempted kidnapping

A 30-YEAR-OLD Bindura man is in soup for allegedly trying to kidnap a girl who turned his love proposal down.
Augustine Chabwinja appeared before Bindura magistrate Moreblessing Makati facing criminal insult and attempted kidnapping charges.
Prosecutor Edward Katsvairo alleged sometime in May the complainant was sent to Chabwinja's homestead to buy eggs by her mother.
Chabwinja asked for the complainant's name and address but was only given a name.
He followed the girl to see her place of residence.
A few days later she returned and Chabwinja proposed love to her but she refused.
He threatened to kidnap her if she refuses.
During the same month, Chabwinja met the complainant on the road and tried to force her into his car but the complainant managed to escape and ran to tell her mother about the incident.
The mother accompanied her to the police station leading to his arrest.
The matter continues on November 16.
