Central Intelligence Organisation operative Steven Tserayi, who is facing charges of smuggling and unlawful possession of gold together with Henrietta Rushwaya, suspects those in charge of investigations in the case are trying to pin him to the offence.
He told the court yesterday that the CCTV footage at the airport in its original state exonerates him from the offence and that the State's reliance on manipulated video footage means there is no evidence against him.
As a person trained in security, he said the police are now relating to an analogue CCTV footage, which they know is easy to manipulate. He said that such type of evidence is not admissible in court.
