Commander of the Air Force of Zimbabwe, Air Marshal Perence Shiri has called on all Zimbabweans to come together and assist the less privileged children in different communities of the country.
Air Marshal Shiri made the call at a dinner held in the capital to raise funds for the construction of Murongwe Primary School in Dande as well as tuition for underprivileged children in the area.
The Air Force of Zimbabwe took over the responsibility of building the school after realising that it lacks basic infrastructure to enable conducive learning.
The Project's Board of Trustees Representative, Mr. Luckson Zembe said the construction of the school is a noble project which needs support from the corporate sector.
Murongwe Primary School Headmaster, Paul Chimudzi thanked the Air Force of Zimbabwe's initiative adding that with better infrastructure, the job of imparting knowledge into students will be easier.
Currently, pupils are learning under trees.
Upon completion Murongwe Primary School is expected to become a model school in Dande.
There are also plans to construct a secondary school in the area.
