Civil servants say they will continue engaging the government over their salary increment issue, despite the continued arrogance by the responsible Minister, Ms Lucia Matibenga who is refusing to engage them.
The newly appointed Apex Council Board this Monday went to Ms Matibenga to seek government's position over the issue, but as has become the norm, the Minister snubbed them.
Apex Council Chairperson, Mr David Dzatsunga said the government should not take the salary increment matter lightly as civil servants' low morale might jeopardise examinations which are written during the third term.
"The subject might sound irrelevant because we have been talking about it since the beginning of the year, but surely we cannot ignore it, government must do something for us to continue working without disgruntlements," said Mr Dzatsunga.
Last month, civil servants demonstrated to press government to review their salaries.
Government workers are demanding a salary which is above the poverty datum line which stands above $500.
