Locardia's maintenance claim wont distract Tsvangirai's wedding

Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai yesterday through his spokesperson, Luke Tamborinyoka, rubbished claims by his ex-lover/wife, Locardia Karimatsenga Tembo, that they were still married.
In a statement, Tamborinyoka said the PM would not be distracted from finalising his wedding preparations by his estranged lover's civil court application.
Tsvangirai's high-profile private wedding - where several regional leaders have reportedly been invited - is set to take place next Saturday in Harare.
"The Prime Minister is happily married and is looking forward to his wedding on the 15th of September," Tamborinyoka said.
"He issued a public statement about his relationship with Locardia Karimatsenga Tembo in November 2011 and that position has not changed, and will not change.
"The timing of the so-called civil suit is curious and betrays a bad motive.
"However, this will not distract the Prime Minister and his family from his big day next week."
On Wednesday, Karimatsenga, through her lawyer Jonathan Samukange, filed a civil court application demanding $15 000 a month in maintenance from the MDC-T leader.
She claimed she was still customarily married to Tsvangirai.
Of the $15 000, Karimatsenga is claiming, $3 000 would be for rent, $4 000 for groceries, $1 500 as
clothing allowance, $500 for electricity bills, $1 200 for telephone bills, $500 as pay for the maid, $300 for the gardener, $1 000 for motor vehicle and fuel expenses, $700 for medical aid, $250 for water, $1 700 for hair and beauty expenses and $350 for a driver.
Tsvangirai, who lost his first wife, Susan, in 2009 in a car accident, ended his relationship with Tembo 12 days after he had reportedly paid damages to her family after she fell pregnant.
He cited interference by State security agents and his political rivals as his reason for terminating the relationship.
