Four Guruve suspected poachers are in trouble after they were arrested in possession of 15.36kgs of ivory without licence.

Gabriel Sahwira(23), Calvin Rutsito(34), Bright Kampambana (21) and Roin Ndlovu (27) appeared before magistrate Rumbidzai Mugwagwa yesterday and were remanded in custody to February 19.

Prosecutor Albert Charewa alleged that on January 13 the detectives from Guruve base received information that the accused persons were in possession of unmarked ivory selling it without licence at Nyarutombo village.

The detectives masqueraded as buyers and an agreement to strike a deal between two parties was reached.

On January 14 the detectives teamed up with members from Zimbabwe National parks and intelligence section  trapped the accused persons who were in possession of two pairs of elephant tasks which valued US$2611.00.
