CONDOLENCE SUPPLEMENT: High profile deaths rise as Covid-19 surges

ZIMBABWE is reeling from a sharp surge in coronavirus infections and deaths. By 23 January 2021, the country's caseload was at 31,007 while fatalities were at 974.
The victims include high profile figures and ministers.
Transport minister Joel Biggie Matiza, former minister Aeneas Chigwedere and ex-Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services commissioner-general retired Major-General Paradzai Zimondi died of Covid-19.
Four ministers, including Matiza have so far died.
These include the Minister of Agriculture Perrence Shiri, Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution minister Ellen Gwaradzimba and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sibusiso Moyo.
