Cops arrested for possession of cannabis

Chiredzi Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) members Luckson Munhukwaye (43) and Phyllis Mufandaedza (36) were nabbed on Monday for unlawful possession of dangerous drugs.
Chiredzi police were tipped that there was contraband of dagga at a certain house in Masekesa, Chiredzi and then they teamed up to the place.
On arrival, they missed the accused persons, searched the house and found one packet of dagga which was on top of the wardrobe.
Bulawayo24.com learnt that as the police officers were driving back towards Chiredzi the allegedly met a silver Toyota Noah motor vehicle carrying sacks and got suspicious which provoked them to make a U-turn and followed the car.
This resulted in a chase as the suspected car increased speed and ignoring roadblocks, however, the team managed to stop the vehicle as it approached Jack Quinton bridge.
The discovery was made that the accused persons were carrying 80 plastic packets of dagga yet to be weighed.
The accused persons are held at Ndali ZRP and investigations are in progress.
