A BULAWAYO City Council employee collapsed and died on Tuesday while having a haircut at a barbershop in Nkulumane.
Provincial police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident.
"I can confirm that police are investigating a case of sudden death involving Gregory Chona (57) who collapsed while taking a haircut at a barber shop at Munemo business centre.
"He was ferried by a Bulawayo City Council vehicle to Maqhawe Clinic and was pronounced dead on arrival,'' said Ncube.
Ncube said Chona had a heart problem.
"We are shocked, we understand he was well before he left the premises for a haircut,'' said a source who disclosed that the deceased was a supervisor at Nkulumane waterworks.
