Zim student admitted at Limpopo Mediclinic after Funeral firm donate R100 000

A ZIMBABWEAN student was on Wednesday admitted at the Mediclinic hospital in Limpopo province - South Africa to under go operations.
This was after the 100 000 Rands donation made by Zororo -Phumulani Company, a funeral and repatriation services provider based in the neighbouring country after he suffered cancerous tumour ailment.
Steve John Mutapiri (21) a student at the University of Zimbabwe recently took to social media asking for help after he developed a cancerous tumour which he said has been troubling him for the past three years.
Zororo- Phumulani company donated R100 000 towards hospital and operation fees for Mutapiri. It also allocated him a laptop to conduct his studies online.
Zororo-Phumulani Corporate Marketing Manager, Robertta Mutimbiri said individuals from across Zimbabwe and abroad sent donations towards Mutapiri.
She said Mutapiri was yesterday admitted at the Mediclinic hospital in Limpopo province pending his operation after COVID 19 tests were conducted on him and came out negative.
"Mutapiri was admitted on Wednesday at Mediclinic in Limpopo. Covid 19 results from Lancert laboratories showed that he was negative for Covid 19," Mutimbiri said.
She said Mutapiri's admission came after Zororo-Phumulani led by its Chief Executive officer Edwin Anderson visited him at his brother's residence in Louis Tritchards SA province of Limpopo to hand over the donation.
They also gave him a laptop to conduct his learning online so that he is not left behind in his studies.
"The plight of Mutapiri touched us as an organization that believes in equipping our youths for life, hence we did not only look at the time that he will spend in hospital but we are looking at him after he has recovered," she said.
She said that is why they allocated a laptop from their 2021 laptop giveaway promotion above the hospital bills that they will take care of.
"He will use the laptop to catch up online so that he doesn't continue missing out on his studies," she said.
Mutapiri has been in and out of Karanda hospital in Zimbabwe and recently relocated to South Africa to seek treatment for the tumour.
Mutapiri's sister in law, Rebecca Mutapiri, could not hold her joy as she thanked Zororo-Phumulani for the generous gesture towards her brother In-law.
She said they were grateful for this donation and it will go a long way in assisting Steve, they were desperately in need of assistance.
