A car buyer was robbed at gunpoint by a Norton man who purported to be selling his vehicle.
The matter came to light yesterday where Vengai Vhare (41) was remanded in custody to April 7 by Bindura Magistrate Moreblessing Makati.
The state-led by Sheilla Maribha alleged that on January 14, Tinashe Biason wanted to buy a car from Vhare and during the process, Vhare pointed Biason with a pistol demanding all the cash and drove away.
It is further alleged that Vhare got Biason's contacts from one Simba Banda, after he got information that he was looking for a car to buy.
The two communicated for some days before meeting at Mazowe - Mvurwi road, Mazowe on the aforementioned date.
The complainant was shown the vehicle before Vhare asked him if he had brought cash and he admitted that he had US$3 500.
Vhare instructed the complainant to go to Concession police for documentation and whilst on their way, Vhare pulled out a pistol and pointed on the complainant demanding all the cash.
The complainant surrendered the money and was ordered to disembark and he complied, as Vhare drove off from the scene with the cash.
