Man bashes wife over $1 EcoCash

A man from Mberengwa has appeared in court after he allegedly bashed his wife over a $1 ecocash transaction.
Ester Ruvengo questioned her husband for sending $1 through ecocash for the upkeep of the children.
Chimurenga Elijah Chiminya(43) of Plot number 101 Leigns Farm under Chief Mafala however, disputed the amount and said that he instead sent $6 700.
Ruvengo then asked to check into her husband's phone for evidence and this angered Chiminya who reacted by assaulting his wife.
The accused appeared before Zvishavane Magistrate Charity Tonongera.
The State said the incident happened on January 17, 2021 at around 7pm.
Chiminya will appear again in court on March 22, 2021.
