A member of the Central Intelligence Officer (CIO), who is accused of demanding a US$9000 as bribe remains in custody after Harare magistrate George Chivasa postponed the matter to Friday.
Patrick Badza, appeared in court today.
Badza is a member of the Foreign Recruitment Committee (FRC), which is responsible for approval of Temporary Employment Permits (TEPs) for foreign employees.
The committee was set up under the National Labour Migration Policy which is designed to improve the governance of labour migration, as well as protection and empowerment of migrant workers.
His arrest triggered internal investigations which have been instituted at the FRC where top officials are accused of corruption and wantonly frustrating TEPs applicants to pave way for kickbacks.
Investigators from the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission arrested Badza after setting a trap.
