4 die in head-on collision

FOUR people were killed yesterday evening at Buffalo Downs near Karoi following a head-on collision involving an ambulance that was coming from Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital.
National police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi told The Herald last night that he was yet to receive information regarding the accident.
However, some officers at Karoi Police Station, who are not allowed to speak to the media, confirmed the accident.
The officers said investigations were still in progress to ascertain the cause of the accident, although preliminary findings were that the ambulance was overtaking before the collision.
The names of the deceased could not be availed last night as their next of kin were yet to be informed.
