Armed robber jailed 10 years

A Harare based armed robber who pounced on female residents in Bindura was yesterday jailed 10 years by Bindura regional magistrate Amos Mbobo.
Vincent Tinashe Mutasa was sentenced after a full trial.
The court heard that on October 12 last year Mutasa and his two accomplices who are still at large pounced at a Clever hill house in Bindura purporting to be Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officers armed with an electric shocker and pistols.
They gained entry into the house and took the complainant to her bedroom where they tortured her while others were looking.
The mother of the complainant pleaded with the robbers to take everything they wanted and leave her daughter alive.
The robbers took her Samsung phone and went away.
The matter was reported at Bindura police station and the police acted swiftly and arrested Mutasa.
