The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) leader Daniel Shumba has promised Zimbabwe's great economic success if they elect him President in the 2023 elections.

He revealed that a number of citizens have asked him to provide leadership in the country claiming Zanu PF government and MDC squabbles have destroyed the country.

Shumba said this was because the people knew his quality leadership and his fine thinking.

"There are a number of people that have asked me to provide leadership especially who have been exposed to my quality leadership both as a businessman, as a military officer as a politician, people that believe in my fine thinking, my broader engagement, my mutual respect for other people and people that known my qualification, they know that I am the best bat and the best option for this country," Shumba said.

"I hope you will understand that in terms of quality, in terms of content, not giving me this opportunity is a disservice not to yourself only but to the future generations that you are denying the qualitative nature that I come with."

Shumba said it was important that people have an understanding of the national issues as introspection.

"We as UDA must be clear in terms of policy issues as to what we are going to do to redeem Zimbabwe, are we equipped, are we willing and are we able to walk the path- redemption path that is expected in restoring Zimbabwe and giving hope to its people. What are the values we are going to be championing in ensuring that the ethos is shared and is collective. Naturally one of the key features is to ensure that we own our country," Shumba said.

"We must have a very clear regard on what is partnership and what is investment and whether it is to the advantage of Zimbabwe and its people. What I am going to advocate for  in the leadership that you are going to favour me with is that every national contract will be reviewable in these terms: Is it to Zimbabwe's best interest, does it benefit our citizenry, and what is its impact on the fiscus. The beneficiary effect, what growth in measurable terms, is it giving the people of Zimbabwe in the immediate, medium and long term?"

He said that understanding is critical to optimize the resources and land and other non tangible effects.

He said in fostering this they will be cognisent with the technological developments to remain competitive at global level to attract international markets at the same time they are able to import the required raw materials for the production industry.

He however denounced the policy of Chinese influx in the country as if Zimbabwe is a section of China will not be tolerated under his leadership.

He said his zeal to serve the people of Zimbabwe was not about making money or being power hungry as he is an established businessman who has his own resources but it was based on the calling to rescue the country from the doldrums of poverty.
