The Zimbabwean government has aided seven shops that were destroyed by looters during the January 2019 national protests
This was revealed by Bulawayo minister of state Judith Ncube when she toured the affected shops at Magwegwe, Mountain View shop and other developmental projects in the city.
She said a number of buildings and shops were looted, vandalized and destroyed during the January 2019 disturbances.
Ncube said the province suffered the most and based on the extent of the damage, the government quickly put in place an inter-ministerial committee to assess the level of damage.
She said an emergency business relief loan fund has since been put in place to assist the shops.
"Seven shops have benefited from this loan facility," she said.
The Minister said the reopening of these shops has created employment.
