Zanu-pf political analysts say the recent judgment by a United Kingdom court to deport Zimbabweans on the basis that the country is a safe country, exposes the European Union's double standards after the bloc extended sanctions on the country alleging that there was violence.

Political analysts say the ruling by a British court that Zimbabweans living illegally in the United Kingdom should be deported is a clear demonstration of Britain's hypocrisy.

In the ruling Justice Blake, noted that Zimbabwe is a safe country and people who are seeking asylum in Britain will not face any danger if they return.

However, some Zimbabwe analysts say this is a clear case of European hypocrisy considering that the EU has extended sanctions on Zimbabwe claiming that there is rampant human rights abuse in the country.

Political analyst, Alexander Rusero says the judgment clearly shows that the sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe are based on economic warfare and a direct retaliation to Zimbabwe's land reform programme.

Another political analyst, Wellington Gadzikwa said Zimbabweans being deported from the UK have been used and are now being dumped after London achieved its goal to persuade the European Union to extend sanctions on Harare.

More than 10 000 Zimbabweans living in the United Kingdom illegally are facing deportation after the president of the Upper Tribunal Chamber on Immigration and Asylum, Justice Blake ruled that the environment in Zimbabwe was safe for them to return home.
