A senior Zanu (PF) official, Foni Madiro has allegedly threatened a member of ZAPU with death and forceful removal from own farm.
Alex Chiwara, of Mambizi Farm in Hurungwe, has been threatened by Foni Madiro, a senior Zanu (PF) official, because he is a member of the Zapu.
The matter has been reported to the police in Karoi under RRB 1083402, CR 146/2/11.
Zapu's Director of Information, Mso Ndlovu stated in a statement that this incident, together with many recent disturbances in Mashonaland West province was "a replica of the events preceding the atrocities committed against our members in the 1980s".
"A person who never fired a gun, even in his wildest dreams, armed only with a phoney name and a thoroughly discredited party card, goes around threatening those who liberated him, all in a desperate effort to be noticed by his Mafia bosses in Harare. Madiro and his ilk must be reminded that land ownership is a right; a hard-won right, not a privilege," Ndlovu stated.
Zapu has rubbished Madiro and his Zanu (PF) masters as "corrupt and selfish opportunists masquerading as politicians" when in fact they were "celebrated capitalists interested only in the wealth of themselves and close family members".
