TWO Zimbabwean men who allegedly duped a Botswana teacher of his P27 600 by claiming they could provide him with herbs to enlarge his manhood to improve his performance in bed, appeared in a Botswana court last Friday charged with fraud.

Chrispen Chawinga (24) and Alex Chipembe (31), however, denied the charge when they appeared before Francistown magistrate Sijabuliso Siziba.

The court heard that an unidentified 34-year-old Botswana male teacher was given a sexual enhancement herbal concoction by the alleged con artists for a fee of P40 000. However, the teacher later withdrew from the deal after noticing that the herbal concoction had not achieved the desired results. This was after he had already paid P27 600.

"I saw an advert in one of the local newspapers claiming to treat such problems, and sought traditional help," the teacher was quoted as saying in court papers.

"When I called the number on the advert, Chrispen Chawinga answered. We arranged to meet and when we met he introduced me to Alex Chipembe, whom he said was more powerful and would help with all my problems."

When the teacher noticed he had been duped, he reported the matter to the police who arrested the suspects. The court remanded the pair in custody to next month but on a day yet to be confirmed.
