5 family members struck to death by a lightning bolt in Mash West

Five family members where yesterday afternoon struck to death by a lightning bolt at Temani Farm near Alaska in Mashonaland West Province.
Tinashe Simbarashe and his 26-year old wife Sheila Makopa and their three children were killed by the lightning bolt which struck their kitchen hut.
A neighbour who had sought shelter in the same hut escaped unhurt.
Mashonaland West acting police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Ian Kohwera, confirmed the tragedy.
Inspector Kohwera advised members of the public to erect lightning conductors at their homesteads to guard against such incidences which are common in the rural areas.
