A 12-YEAR-OLD boy from Nyanga last week hanged himself after he had complained to no avail to his parents that he no longer wanted to go to school because it was too far.

Police confirmed the death of Morgan Nyakuba of Chibvembe Village under Chief Katerere.

Police said Morgan always complained to his parents that the primary school he was attending was too far.

"He was found hanging, but still breathing last Wednesday by Revai Zanga. She told a villager, Morgan Zuze who untied him. The boy died a few minutes later before he was taken to hospital," said Manicaland police spokesman, Inspector Enock Chishiri.

Meanwhile, a Nyanga man last week hanged himself on a tree branch fearing that he had fatally assaulted his wife following a domestic dispute over infidelity allegations.

Police confirmed the suicide.

Samson Mangenda (34) of Madziya Village under Chief Saunyama convinced himself that he had killed his wife, Francisca Kabanda and decided to take own life.

"He was found hanging from a tree branch a few hours after he had a heated argument with Francisca, accusing her of having an extra-marital affair with another man.

"He assaulted her and she fell unconscious. Mangenda thought that Francisca had died and proceeded to a nearby mountain where he hanged himself. His body was found by Moses Mangenda (12) and Prince Mangenda (9) of Munembe Village who were herding cattle at around 3pm," said Insp Chishiri

He urged members of the public to solve marital disputes amicably and seek proffesional counselling to avoid unnecessary loss of lives.
