The Zanu-PF politburo met in Harare on Wednesday still smarting from its speakership defeat from MDC-T.
Insiders claimed the politburo met to deliberate on the defeat with a possibility to launch a witch hunt on members of parliament that voted for a rival candidate.
Two Zanu-PF MPs are thought to have voted for Tsvangirai's ally Lovemore Moyo instead of the Zanu-PF Chair Simon Khaya Moyo.

Two Zanu-PF MPs are thought to have voted for Tsvangirai's ally Lovemore Moyo instead of the Zanu-PF Chair Simon Khaya Moyo.
The MDC-T candidate, Lovemore Moyo won 105 votes against 94 for Zanu-PF's representative Simon Khaya Moyo.
The voting pattern in Tuesday night's election is said to have devastated Zanu-PF which desperately wants to re-gain its lost glory against MDC-T.
Zanu-PF's Tsholotsho North MP Professor Jonathan Moyo said he would take legal action over MDC-T claims that he had tried to bribe their MPs by offering them US$5 000 each. "I am going to sue them for those statements, they should learn to behave properly in and outside Parliament."
