Mugabe declares Monday public holiday

President Mugabe has declared Monday, December 24 as a public holiday.
In a statement, the Ministry of Home Affairs said the President declared the public holiday in terms of section 2(2) of the Public Holidays and Prohibition of Business Act (Chapter 10; 21).
The declaration of Monday as a public holiday means most companies will close for the Christmas break tomorrow (Friday). The country will commemorate Unity Day on Saturday followed by Christmas Day on Tuesday and Boxing Day on Wednesday.
