Operators in the safari industry say the year 2012 has seen an influx in the number of hunters and tourists into the country, which is a sign of better prospects next year.
Zimbabwe Safari Operators Chairperson, Mr Emmanuel Fundira attributed the increase in the number of hunters and tourists coming into the country to the aggressive marketing which players in the tourism industry embarked on over the past few years.
In a telephone interview with the ZBC News, Mr Fundira said the safari industry had good business from traditional markets such as Europe and the United States.
"This year has seen a remarkable increase in the number of hunters who were coming into the country," he said.
Turning to prospects of the new year, Mr Fundira said they are expecting an influx of hunters and tourists, adding that bookings have already been made.
Next year, the country is hosting the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) General Assembly, an event which is expected to attract thousands of delegates in the tourism industry.
