Public urged to report corrupt police officers

The Zimbabwe Republic Police has called on the public to report any case of police officers suspected of extorting motorists through setting up unofficial roadblocks.
ZRP Assistant Commissioner Kenny Mtombeni says it has come to their attention that there a several cases of members of the police and public who are masquerading as traffic officers and are extorting money from motorists.
Assistant Commissioner Mtombeni urged motorist to report any case of suspected police officers or individuals engaging in such dubious activities.
The call by police follows complaints by motorists over the ever-increasing number of police officers claiming to be traffic officers and allegedly swindling the public of hard earned cash.
