Legislators should stop deviating from party principles: Mugabe

President Robert Mugabe, has deplored the betrayal and dishonesty displayed by some three ZANU-PF legislators who voted for the opposition in the recent elections for Speaker in the Lower House.
The MDC-T Chairman, Mr Lovemore Moyo was elected for the post where he was contesting against the Zanu-PF's Simon Khaya Moyo.
In his address during the Central Committee meeting held in Harare, Mugabe said such conduct contradicts the principles of his party and urged legislators as leaders of the community to be upright and listen to the voice of the people.
Mugabe said legislators should be true to themselves and stop deviating from party principles and norms.
Meanwhile, Zanu-PF youth leaders have expressed disappointment at the dishonest and unprincipled behaviour displayed by three legislators who voted for the opposition in the parliamentary election for Speaker of the House of Assembly.
Zanu-PF Youth Secretary for Information and Publicity, Bekela Sibanda said it is disheartening to see some party parliamentarians selling out.
Youth League National Commissar, Mike Gave said such behavior by the parliamentarians demonstrates that they do not have the party at heart.
A few Zanu-PF parliamentarians were fingered for voting for the MDC-T candidate in the first election for the Lower House Speaker in 2008.
