President Robert Mugabe says the struggle to liberate Zimbabwe is still continuing, Zimbabweans should be masters of their destiny.
Speaking to Zimbabwean students and embassy staff in Beijing, China recently, President Mugabe said people should strive to create genuine wealth from the country's resources with a view to empower themselves and create employment.
"The struggle is still the continuation of the liberation war. We are living in (some of us, Zanu PF), in a world in which we would want to be our own masters, masters of our own destiny.
"There are others who think we cannot be masters of our own destiny. You must be proud as a Zimbabwean that you own your country, that you are masters of your own destiny," said the President.
He urged youths to follow the teachings of African revolutionary icons like Kwame Nkrumah, Patrice Lumumba and Julius Nyerere who moulded what Africa is like today.
President Mugabe said many Africans were cheated by the West, who are supporting uprisings in their bid to plunder resources from the continent.
The President said: "We also have appetite for wealth but not for other people's wealth, for our own country and we should fill our own appetite from our own wealth by creating that wealth.
"Leave us. Mind your own resources if you have them. If you don't have, then bad luck."
He cited the Arab spring as an example where countries like Libya, Iraqi, Egypt and Syria were led into turmoil for the West's benefit.
