Veteran Radio 2 broadcaster dies

Veteran Radio Zimbabwe broadcaster, Sam Sibanda has died.
Sibanda died early this Sunday at his home in Unit N, Chitungwiza.
Elizabeth Chengeta, Thulani Siziba, Thandekile Simango and Sibongile Msipa said Radio Zimbabwe will never be the same without Sibanda's guidance which had seen him shape them into the personalities they are today.
Also known as Sammy Boy on radio, Sibanda joined the then Rhodesia Broadcasting Corporation in 1975 as a producer/presenter.
After independence in 1980, he rose to fame on Radio 2 with his early morning shows, Kwayedza/Kusile that were characterised by his humour.
Sammy Boy also presented a variety of programmes including 'Dzechinyakare,' 'Rhumba Music' and other discussion programmes.
Mourners are gathered at number 12585 Unit N in Chitungwiza.
Sibanda will be buried at his rural home in Zvishavane on Tuesday.
He is survived by his wife, two children and two grand children.
