A sex-starved man phoned his ex-wife's sisters demanding to have sex with them as compensation after the collapse of his marriage, a court heard.

Tawanda Gumede appeared at the Civil court where his former wife, Rufaro Lavendah Chinyama had arraigned him seeking a protection order against him. Rufaro complained that her former husband was in the habit of phoning her sisters demanding to have sex with them.

"I was forced to move out of the marriage because of continuous assault at his hands. He used to assault me on almost everyday until I decided to leave the marriage sometime in May last year. The problem is that he is now visiting me where I am currently staying demanding sex. On one incident, he entered into the yard and tried to force himself on me," she said.

Rufaro also told the court that Tawanda is in the habit of phoning her sisters demanding sex from them. She said he even insults them.

Asked to comment on the allegations, Tawanda did not oppose to his former wife's application. But he was anxious to know how he would recover his money from his former wife's mother.

"I would like to know how I will recover my money from my mother-in-law. I worked for her for almost a year growing crops and we produced 12 tonnes of maize. She promised to pay me after selling the produce but up to now I am yet to be paid. My wife left home to stay with another man soon after our child died end of last year. The other thing is that I am still in possession of her clothes and educational certificates. I would like to know how I will give them back to her if the court bars me from talking to her and visiting her at her place of residence," he said.

Magistrate Mirriam Banda ruled in Rufaro's favour and ordered Tawanda to refrain from insulting and visiting her place of residence.
